Marysvale, Utah

Today was a travel day.  We drove about 150 miles and it took about 4 hours.  Lots of up and downs through mesas and canyons.  The scenery was once again outstanding.

We’re staying at South-Forty RV Park in Marysvale.  It’s a relatively new campground with 75 full hook-up sites.  The cost for a 30 amp site was $28 a night plus tax.  All the sites are gravel with a few small trees.  The place is very well maintained and they have free wi-fi.  There are only two units here today.

This part of Utah has many off-road trails and that’s why many people camp here.  We’re here to visit Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon National Parks.  The weather is still in the 70s during the day and the 40s at night.  We’ve had an absolutely beautiful fall.

This is the view out of our back window.  There’s snow on those mountains.  I hope the weather holds out a little longer.

These are two birds we saw in Canyonlands yesterday.  I think the blue one is Mountain Bluebird.  The black one is a Raven.  They are quite brave and very vocal!

  1. I love that part of the country. When I used to drive semi cross country, I always looked forward to getting a load that would take me through there. I just can't wait when the wife and I can move out of this work-a-day world and in to the RV world. Glad you've had that geat weather to travel and tour with.

  2. I hate to disagree with you, Evelyn, but as the unofficial bird lady of blogland, I feel compelled to make a comment. :) While the bird in the picture is blue, I don't think it is a bluebird. I believe you have a very nice picture of a Western Scrub-Jay! Notice that long tail? If it were a Mountain Bluebird, it would also have an all blue breast. Just saying...

  3. Nice pictures. We would love to come out there and see that park and I would like to do it after all the tourists leave. Stay safe.

  4. Judy is right.

Looking at your rig I see some bikes. do you get to ride much? Or has it just been hiking?

Your comment yesterday made me smile.
